Limericks first
dedicated angel shop Angel Times on Thomas Street was established
by husband and wife team Janet Kingston and Stephen Ryan.
“We were living in Dublin, Janet worked in a record
company and I was In IT sales, then we were both made redundant
on the same day. We said we needed to do something and put
the question out there.
It seemed that
there was something out there looking out for us because things
just fell into place very quickly from there. We decided to
move to Limerick as Janet is from the South Circular Road
originally and the decision was made very easy for us,”
explains Stephen.
While both
Stephen and Janet believe in the theory of guardian angels,
they say that it is never something that they would scream
from the rooftops.
“I think it is a choice, we wouldn’t like to try
to force our opinions on others but we do sincerely believe
that there is a hand guiding us,” Stephen says.
“We wanted to be self employed in the retail sector
and this type of shop is the most relaxing thing to be involved
in There was a strong need for it in Limerick as angels are
a link in almost every religion.
Janet’s
father, Sam Kingston has practiced alternative therapies such
as reflexology for more than 25 years and this, Janet says,
is where her interest in the field came from.
Janet practices Total Body Modification, an alternative therapy
that works on the technique of locating areas of the body
which may be under stress and corrects the problem by restoring
balance to the nervous system.
